Caring for your bamboo toothbrush properly
If bamboo toothbrushes are made of biodegradable and natural materials, do they need more care or treatment than plastic toothbrushes? Do they require any maintenance to stay in good condition?
After opening your bamboo toothbrush simply pop it in your paper recycling. Our packaging is made from fully biodegradable material.
As with any toothbrush, please thoroughly rinse the toothbrush handle and bristles with water before first use. This is especially important with bamboo toothbrushes as compared to plastic toothbrushes.
There may be some bamboo dust that remains on the toothbrush head and handle after manufacturing. While it is harmless, we recommend washing it off.
After you are done brushing your teeth, rinse the handle and bristles thoroughly under the tap to wash away any toothpaste and debris. If by any chance the bristles bend during the brushing process, you can straighten them back into place with your fingers.
Bamboo is a natural material that keeps best when kept in a dry area. Enclosed toothbrush cups that collect water are not ideal. It is best to keep your toothbrush in an open-air toothbrush holder or any other dry area.
Just to recap, wash it thoroughly, dry it thoroughly, store it in a clean container or holder and you will have a higher success rate at keeping your toothbrush in the best condition possible for longer.
